To join GREEN RIDER Ridesharing services and to be a part of our company using Electric and Hybrid Vehicles in NSW, drivers and vehicles must meet certain conditions and requirements to ensure safety, compliance, and service quality. Here are the key requirements:

Driver Requirements For New South Wales (NSW)
  1. Driver’s Licence:
  • Hold a full, unrestricted Australian driver’s licence for at least 12 months.
  • The licence must be valid and issued by the state of NSW.
  1. Driver Accreditation:
  • Obtain a Passenger Transport Licence Code (PTLC) from Transport for NSW.
  • Pass a criminal background check. Applying for a National Police Check.
  • Pass a medical assessment to ensure Fitness to drive.
  1. Driver Safety and Training:
  • Complete any required training programs mandated by GREEN RIDER.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of safe driving practices and customer service skills.
  1. Insurance:
  • Maintain a comprehensive car insurance policy that includes coverage for ride-sharing activities.
  • Have third-party property damage and personal injury insurance.
Vehicle Requirements
  1. Vehicle Age:
  • The vehicle must be no more than 10 years old.
  1. Vehicle Condition:
  • The vehicle must be well-maintained, clean, and free from significant damage.
  • It must pass regular safety inspections and comply with NSW roadworthiness standards.
  1. Vehicle Registration:
  • The vehicle must be registered in NSW and have a current safety (pink slip) inspection if it is more than 5 years old.
  1. Vehicle Insurance:
  • Maintain a comprehensive insurance policy that covers ride-sharing activities.
  • Ensure that the insurance policy includes both third-party property and personal injury coverage.
  1. Vehicle Type:
  • The vehicle must be an electric vehicle (EV) or a hybrid vehicle.
  • It should have four doors and sufficient seating capacity for passengers (typically 4-7 seats).
Additional Requirements
  1. Vehicle Identification:
  • Display any required ride-sharing identification or signage on the vehicle as specified by GREEN RIDER and NSW regulations.
  1. Technology:
  • Ensure the vehicle is equipped with a GPS system and a reliable smartphone or device for the GREEN RIDER app.
  1. Compliance with Green Rider Policies:
  • Adhere to the specific policies and procedures of GREEN RIDER, including guidelines on vehicle appearance, customer service standards, and operational practices. 
Process to Join
  1. Application:
  • To apply to GREEN RIDER services, including all required documentation (driver’s license, insurance, vehicle registration, Passenger Transport Licence Code (PTLC)).
  1. Background Checks:
  • Undergo and pass criminal background checks and driving history assessments.
  1. Vehicle Inspection:
  • Have the vehicle inspected by an approved mechanic to ensure it meets safety and condition standards.
  1. Training:
  • Complete any necessary training provided by GREEN RIDER.
  1. Activation:
  • Once all requirements are met and verified, activate the driver account and start accepting ride requests.
